Israeli Army Radio reported today that 11 prisoners from "Hamas" will be released under the Gaza deal, not from the "Fatah" movement, as previously planned, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
According to available information, this is a last-minute change in the list of those being released.
Meanwhile, according to an Israeli military spokesman, the ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement "Hamas" went into effect at noon today.
Israel and "Hamas" have agreed on the first phase of a peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. The agreement calls for the release of all Israeli hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli forces to a mutually agreed-upon line in Gaza. Israel will release about 250 Palestinians serving life sentences, as well as approximately 1,700 people detained since the Hamas attack two years ago that triggered the war, Reuters notes.
