The deputies in the Israeli parliament gave a standing ovation to US President Donald Trump during his visit to the Knesset, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
Trump arrived in Israel in connection with the truce between Israel and "Hamas", mediated by the United States, before continuing to Egypt. The American head of state hopes to consolidate the end of the war and lay the foundations for a more lasting peace in the Middle East, notes the Associated Press.
“This is a great day, this is a whole new beginning“, Trump told reporters before arriving in the Israeli parliament. “I don't think there has ever been an event like this, I "I've never seen anything like it," he added.
