The Turkish Armed Forces are ready to carry out any tasks in the international mission that will be sent to Gaza, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Turkey announced at their traditional weekly briefing, the Turkish state television “TRT Haber“ reported, quoted by BTA.
“With the experience that the Turkish Armed Forces have from their participation in previous international peacekeeping missions, they are ready to carry out any tasks within the framework of international law that will lead to the establishment and preservation of peace. The activities related to their dispatch are being carried out in coordination with the structures and units that are relevant to the issue“, the Ministry of Defense said.
According to them, the most urgent tasks after the two-year war in Gaza are the dispatch of humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Turkish media reported that the former director of the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) Mehmet Güllüoğlu has been appointed as the coordinator of the activities to provide humanitarian aid in Gaza. He was sent to the site on October 15 to follow up with his team on what is needed.
The Ministry of Defense also provided information about the meeting related to Syria's security, which was held on October 12, 2025 in Ankara. On the Turkish side, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and Director of the Turkish Intelligence (MIT) Ibrahim Kalin participated. The main topic was the integration of the Syrian Kurdish militias, which Ankara has repeatedly stated are also causing problems in Turkey.
„As you know, activities to rebuild all state structures and establish stability and security continue in Syria. In this regard, we are strengthening our cooperation with Syria in order to contribute to increasing the capacity to create security, eliminate terrorism from the region, and establish stability. We are determined to support territorial integrity and the creation of a unified army. In this context, the integration of the Syrian Kurdish militias into the Syrian army is extremely necessary. Turkey is holding meetings, coordinating with its partners and closely monitoring the process,” the Defense Ministry said.
During the weekly briefing, Defense Ministry spokesman Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk announced that one Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist had surrendered in the past week. In securing Turkey's borders, 53,892 illegal crossing attempts were prevented and 7,743 people were apprehended while attempting to do so until October 1, 2025.
