The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, inspected the sector around Pokrovsk and Mirnograd - areas that are among the main targets of the Russian offensive campaign. The BBC quotes his words in which he describes the situation as difficult, but denies the claims spread by Russian propaganda about a "blockade" of the Ukrainian defense forces in Pokrovsk and Kupyansk, News.bg reports.
According to Syrsky, in Pokrovsk, the Russian infantry is concentrated in urban areas and often tries to avoid direct battles, constantly changing their locations. Therefore, the main task of the Ukrainian forces is to locate these groups and neutralize them.
He indicated that they are working to increase the defensive resilience in the sector Pokrovsk through better interaction between units and their timely supply - including meeting additional needs that have arisen.
Syrsky stressed the importance of precise and coordinated execution of tasks by commanders at all levels and said he had taken strict measures against irresponsibility, including threats of dismissal for those who fail to fulfill their duties.
