The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has carried out 160 successful strikes on Russian oil facilities since the beginning of the year. This was announced by the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, quoted by "Agence France-Presse".
According to him, between September and October alone, Ukrainian drones hit 20 oil-related targets in Russia, including six refineries, two oil terminals, three depots and nine pumping stations.
He noted that the attacks caused a 20% fuel shortage, shut down 37% of the capacity of refineries in Russia and caused fuel shortages in 57 regions, which forced Moscow to impose a ban on gasoline exports until the end of the year.
Malyuk also stressed that the Russian "Pantsir" air defense systems have proven to be most effective against Ukrainian drones, but Ukraine has destroyed 48% of them since the beginning of 2025.
Although Russia can produce about 30 such systems per year, the number lost to Ukrainian strikes already exceeds that figure, he reported.
It was previously reported that SBU drones carried out a successful night operation targeting key Russian military and infrastructure facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea.
By morning, the Russians reported that they had lost a "Pantsir-S2" anti-aircraft missile system - a key element of their air defense, estimated at about $20 million, as well as two radar stations.
