US President Donald Trump could become the first leader to attend a Supreme Court hearing on November 5, potentially to hear a challenge to his authority to impose tariffs, Bloomberg reports.
„There is no record of a sitting president ever attending a hearing in the Supreme Court's 235-year history“, the agency writes.
US leaders have attended other events at the highest court, but never a hearing. Some of them were lawyers before taking office.
Trump has repeatedly expressed his intention to attend the November 5 hearing, which will consider his authority to impose tariffs. The president noted that he has a "duty" to attend.
Trump may speak at a business forum in Miami on November 5, so it is not yet known whether he will attend the Supreme Court, the agency wrote.
