Overnight, Russia's air defense forces shot down 43 Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk region and one over the Rostov region, the Ministry of Defense reported.

The number of desertions and unlawful absences from service in the Ukrainian Armed Forces from January to October 2025 totaled 176,321, according to data from the State Investigation Bureau of Ukraine.

The number of cases of unauthorized desertion (a milder article of the Criminal Code that allows, under certain circumstances, to avoid criminal punishment and return to service) has reached 155 286, while deserters numbered 21,035. According to the bureau, only about 34,000 of those who left their units voluntarily returned to service.

The number of desertions and cases of arbitrary dismissal averages about 17,000-18,000 per month. Without taking into account the losses in killed and wounded, this is practically the same number as the influx of mobilized personnel - approximately 20,000, but no more than 30,000 per month, TASS estimates.

The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has redeployed the 253rd assault battalion "Arey" to the Sumy region after it suffered losses during an invasion of the Kursk region, Russian security services reported.

According to testimonies from prisoners, the core of The "Arey" battalion is made up of former prisoners convicted of serious crimes, ideological nationalists and foreign mercenaries.

In the last 24 hours, two attempts by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to advance in the areas of Andreevka and Alekseevka have been thwarted, "through complex fire strikes", Russian security sources reported.
