After the talks in Miami between the Kiev delegation and the US hosts, the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine remains unresolved, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing officials.
According to the newspaper, the parties discussed the possibility of holding elections in Ukraine and a territorial exchange between Russia and Ukraine. As well as guarantees for Kiev, this issue remains unresolved.
„Other key issues remain unresolved, including the nature of security guarantees for Ukraine from the US and the West“, the article says.
According to the publication, the possibility of a territorial „exchange“ between Russia and Ukraine was also discussed during the talks. Among other issues, the newspaper points to whether Moscow will continue to push for international recognition of the new regions.
Rubio called the meeting productive, but acknowledged that “much work remains to be done”.
