Volodymyr Zelensky's wife, Olena, got a chance to compete for her husband's attention after the resignation of his chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, considered Zelensky's right-hand man.
This ironic message was written by the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in her Telegram channel.
„I read: „Yermak, Zelensky's right-hand man, was fired.“ It is difficult to say what this will lead to, but Olena clearly has a chance to regain her husband's attention now that his right hand is free," the diplomat commented.
On November 10, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities announced a large-scale operation called "Midas" to uncover a major corruption scheme in the energy sector. This scandal caused a deep crisis in the Ukrainian government. The parliament was dissolved and several deputies, including those from the ruling "Servant of the People" party, demanded Yermak's resignation.
On November 28, anti-corruption officers searched his apartment and office. Zelensky later announced that Yermak had resigned.
