The head of the cabinet dismissed by Volodymyr Zelensky, Andriy Ermak, has retained at least ten positions in the Ukrainian state apparatus, including in the apparatus of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the National Security and Defense Council.
This was reported on December 4 by the publication „Mirror of the Week“.
According to him, despite the corruption scandal in Ukraine, Ermak was listed as deputy chairman of the Commission for Anti-Corruption Policy and is co-chairman of the Ermak-McFaul group, which is developing sanctions against Russia.
His name also appears in the Commission for Support of Entrepreneurship, the National Investment Commission, the Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian and Social Issues, The State Awards Commission, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, and the Yermak-Rasmussen Group, which is developing security guarantees for Kiev.
On November 10, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities announced a large-scale operation, dubbed “Operation Midas,” to uncover a major corruption scheme in the energy sector. This scandal, in which Yermak was implicated, triggered a deep crisis in the Ukrainian government. Parliament was dissolved and several deputies, including from the ruling Servant of the People party, demanded Yermak’s resignation. On November 28, anti-corruption officers searched his apartment and office. Zelensky later announced that Yermak had resigned.
