Brazil's Congress has passed a bill to reduce the sentence of former far-right President Jair Bolsonaro, who was sentenced to 27 years and sent to prison last month for attempting a coup, AFP reported.
The proposed text, which was approved by the conservative majority in the legislature, provides for the sentence to be reduced to two years and four months. However, the current leftist Brazilian president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, can veto it.
