A passenger train with 291 passengers was hit by a Russian drone strike in Ukraine's Kharkiv region. Two people were injured, Ukrinform and Reuters reported, citing Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba, BTA reports.
In his post on “Telegram“ he called the attack “a direct act of Russian terror“.
“Russia hit a passenger train in Kharkiv region, traveling on the Barvinkove - Lviv - Chop route. According to preliminary information, the enemy attacked with three “Shahed” drones, his publication also says.
The drones struck right in front of the locomotive and one of the passenger cars, in which a fire broke out. The passengers were immediately evacuated.
According to preliminary information, two passengers were injured and hospitalized. All emergency services, including medics, rescuers and a team from the Ukrainian Railways, are working at the scene, and emergency buses have been organized for the evacuated passengers and for the passengers who were waiting to board the train from different stations.
Earlier today, Russian forces also carried out a drone attack in the Sumy region, killing two people who were trying to evacuate from occupied territory, Ukrinform notes.
