If all sanctions are lifted! Iran may reduce uranium enrichment - 1

Iran may reduce the level of enriched uranium to 60% in the event of the lifting of all sanctions against the country. This was stated by the country's Vice President and Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization Mohammad Eslami.

He explained that this issue is inextricably linked to the lifting of sanctions.

Regarding the removal of enriched uranium from Iran, Eslami clarified that this topic has not been raised in the current negotiations with the United States. While some countries may have suggested it as a means to facilitate discussions, it has not been formally considered in the ongoing talks.

The Vice President stressed that while there is an established relationship between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the agency has not yet made a decision on the possibility of a military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

He reiterated that, in accordance with IAEA regulations, Iran's rights must be respected and the agency is obligated to support the country, as well as all other countries, in using nuclear technology exclusively for peaceful purposes.

Negotiations between Iran and the United States on the nuclear program began on February 6 in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The parties agreed to continue negotiations.

According to an IAEA report published in May 2025, Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium amounts to 9,247 kilograms, of which 408 kilograms are enriched above 60%.
