A 6.1 magnitude earthquake has been registered in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the western coast of Italy, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GIZ), reported, quoted by Reuters.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported the earthquake's strength at 5.9.
The earthquake was at a depth of 377 kilometers, and 43 km southwest of Naples - a city with a population of about 959 thousand.
There are no reports of casualties or damage. No tsunami threat has been announced.
