A day of reflection has begun in Kazakhstan ahead of the national referendum on the draft new Constitution.
There is one day left until the national referendum on the draft new Constitution. The campaign on this issue ended at 00:00 on March 14, 2026.
According to the Law “On the National Referendum”, the ban on campaigning remains in force on the day before and on the day of voting, i.e. March 14 and 15, 2026.
The ban applies to any publications in favor of or against the draft new Constitution, including on social media. This also applies to re-publications of already published campaign materials.
However, printed campaign materials and posters previously placed outside polling stations may remain in their original places. What else is prohibited?
On election day, the publication of opinion poll results, referendum outcome forecasts and other voting-related surveys in the media and online platforms is also prohibited.
Furthermore, the conduct of opinion polls in polling stations or polling stations is prohibited on referendum day.
