December 7, 1941 The Attack on Pearl Harbor - 1

Our history today determines the course of world history for decades.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise air attack by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the US naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The start of the invasion was set for December 7, 1941. in the morning.

With no prior declaration of war, the base was attacked by 353 Japanese fighter planes, bombers and destroyers in two waves. Six aircraft carriers have been mobilized for this purpose. Much of the US Pacific Fleet was destroyed. Therefore, in the coming months, the Japanese have complete supremacy in the Pacific Ocean. Simultaneously with the attack, the Japanese offensive against British and Dutch colonies in Southeast Asia began, making World War II a de facto global war. The attack on Pearl Harbor was a battle in which aircraft carriers and battleships were the dominant element.

The attack is a turning point in the development of the Second World War, as it becomes the occasion for the entry of the USA, which until then was neutral, into the war. Although the attack caused the US significant military losses, it proved fatal for Japan. The next day, the US declares war on Japan. Until the beginning of the war, the American government set the US population as mostly peaceful and not aggressive, and defined the attack as “insidious”. After that, the USA switched to the Allies and mobilized its population in combat readiness.

The enormous industrial potential of the country contributed greatly to their successes in the war. Today in the USA the name Pearl Harbor is synonymous with a devastating attack without warning.

The American government even before this supported the Anti-Hitler Coalition by all possible means and often provoked clashes between the US Navy and German submarines in the Atlantic.

There are numerous conspiracy theories surrounding the events. Critics accuse the US government of provoking the attack through its policies and the deployment of the navy in Hawaii.
