The water level in the Ishim River near the town of Ishim in the Tyumen Region has reached the criteria for the dangerous “flooding” phenomenon. This was announced in the official Telegram channel of the city administration, TASS reported.
„On April 20 at 2 a.m. local time (00:00 Moscow time), the level was 861 cm above zero”, the administration said.
From there they specified that the water level continues to rise. Flooding of low-water bridges, garden plots, agricultural lands and interruption of road communications between settlements is expected.
Later, the information center of the regional government said that the water level in Ishim in the Ishim region reached 911 cm, in 24 hours it rose by 221 cm.
The Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring Ob-Irtysh announced that the mark of the dangerous phenomenon “flood“ is 850 cm.
A state of emergency due to an unfavorable flood forecast was previouslyintroduced in the Tyumen region. High water levels of the Ishim and Tobol rivers are expected. The region's governor, Alexander Moore, said the likelihood of dams breaking or overflowing was increasing.
