Today the Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk said that tomorrow's visit by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is part of Poland's plan to restore its position in the field of security in Europe, Reuters and BTA reported.
"Tomorrow's visit by the British Prime Minister and the Secretary General of NATO [...] is a continuation of my mission to restore and expand Poland's position in security policy”, Tusk told reporters.
"Poland's security is at the center of my attention. We are on the right track. I have never before had such a positive impression that people in Europe are listening to the voice of Poland.“
Tusk's pro-European government, which has been in power since December, has promised to improve Poland's position in the EU and its relations with Western countries after the end of eight years of nationalist rule.
When asked whether Poland will join an initiative to provide missile systems "Patriot” of Ukraine, Tusk replied that this would not be possible, but "there are other types of weapons to protect the sky and Poland will be active here”.
