Iran: If Israel launches an attack on the country's territory it will be destroyed - 1

President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, warned that an Israeli attack on Iranian territory could radically change the dynamics and lead to such serious consequences that the "Zionist regime" can be erased from the map, reported Reuters and BTA.

Raisi arrived yesterday on a three-day visit to Pakistan. He promised to increase the volume of trade between the two neighboring countries to 10 billion dollars a year. Tehran and Islamabad are trying to restore ties after exchanging unprecedented military strikes earlier this year, Reuters notes.

On Friday, explosions were heard over the Iranian city of Isfahan, which sources said was an Israeli attack, but Tehran downplayed the incident and said it was not planning any retaliation, the agency recalled.

Meanwhile today, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian condemned the planned sanctions against his country because of the large-scale drone and rocket attack against Israel on the night of April 14, DPA reported.

Abdolakhian wrote on the "X" social network that with the attack, Iran exercised its right to self-defense. He called for sanctions against Israel.

At a meeting in Luxembourg on Monday, the foreign ministers of the 27 EU member states tasked the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, with presenting concrete proposals for sanctions. The measures should allow for additional trade restrictions to be imposed on Iran to make it more difficult for the Islamic Republic to manufacture and develop unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles.
