Chinese Foreign Ministry congratulates Vladimir Putin on his inauguration in office, a representative of the department announced today, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
„China congratulates President Putin on his inauguration,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, noting that President Xi Jinping has already sent a congratulatory message to Putin on his re-election.
Lin said that Sino-Russian relations have remained healthy under the strategic guidance of the two leaders.
„China attaches great importance to the strategic leading role of diplomacy between the heads of state in the bilateral relations between the two countries. The two heads of state agreed to continue to maintain close exchanges with each other to ensure the smooth and stable development of Sino-Russian relations, he said.
The USA and most member states of the European Union yesterday boycotted the Kremlin inauguration ceremony for Putin for the next six-year presidential term, citing the Russian war in Ukraine as the reason.
