US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived today on a surprise visit to Kyiv, NOVA reported.
The unannounced visit is intended to show the United States' solidarity with Ukraine, which is struggling to repel heavy Russian attacks along its northeastern border.
Moscow opened a new front not far from Kharkiv and put the overstretched Ukrainian forces under even greater pressure. This is also the first visit by a high-ranking American official to Ukraine after Congress passed last month's long-delayed package of military aid to the country worth $61 billion.
The White House announced that the new American military aid is already on the battlefield.
„The same day the law went into effect, two or three weeks ago, the president signed a billion-dollar package. Some of this equipment is already on the battlefield. On Friday, he signed another. Some of this equipment will be delivered this week,”, commented Jake Sullivan, US national security adviser.
