In Papua New Guinea, the evacuation of about 7,900 people began due to fears of another landslide, the authorities said today, quoted by France Press and BTA.
The evacuation was undertaken after the giant landslide that almost destroyed a village in Enga province on Friday.
Emergency services say more than 2,000 people may be buried alive.
So far, the authorities have managed to get hold of the bodies of only five people, notes AFP.
