Vital water desalination plants in the Gaza Strip have stopped due to a lack of fuel for power generators, the UN said, quoted by DPA and BTA.
"People are almost out of water", warned on the social media "X". Palestine Refugee Agency (UNRWA). "Survival is a struggle. Families and children walk great distances in the heat to get water. People need water to live - Israeli authorities have a duty to provide access to it NOW," the UN office said.
In April, Israel announced that the central water pipeline from Israel to the Gaza Strip had been repaired after being damaged in the war against the Palestinian Islamist movement "Hamas".
"Children in Gaza are living an endless nightmare," said another publication by the Refugee Agency yesterday. "Bombings, forced displacement, lack of food and water, as well as deprivation of access to education traumatize an entire generation," the service warned.
