Flight OS434 encountered stormy weather near Hartberg, Styria, as reported by the Austrian weather service Unwetterzentrale (UWZ). The thunderstorm was so strong that it caused the windshield to crack, greatly reducing the pilots' visibility. Despite this daunting challenge, the crew was able to land the plane safely in Vienna approximately 20 minutes later, as detailed by the Aviation Herald.

In response to the situation, the crew declared an emergency (Mayday) before successfully landing at Vienna Airport. It is noteworthy that there were no reports of casualties from the incident.
