The Palestinian Islamist movement " Hamas" informed its allies from the Lebanese Shiite movement "Hezbollah" that it has agreed to a proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Reuters reported, citing today's information from two people familiar with the matter, BTA writes.

A delegation of "Hamas", headed by the movement's top representative Khalil al-Haya, met in Beirut with the leader of "Hezbollah" Hassan Nasrallah and briefed him on the latest developments, the sources told Reuters.

Earlier, the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement said Nasrallah and Haya discussed the latest developments in talks aimed at a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

One of the sources, a representative of "Hezbollah", told Reuters that the Lebanese movement would end the firefight with Israel across the Lebanese-Israeli border if a ceasefire in Gaza is reached.

A senior American representative said yesterday that the movement "Hamas" has made significant adjustments to its position regarding a possible deal to release the Israeli hostages it is holding in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US President Joe Biden yesterday that he will send a delegation to resume talks on the Gaza ceasefire.

Today "Hamas" also stated that it opposes any statements and positions in support of plans for the entry of "foreign powers" in the Gaza Strip "under any name and under any pretext".

Palestinian authorities said seven people were killed today in an Israeli military operation in the West Bank city of Jenin, the Associated Press reported. The Israeli army said it was conducting an anti-terrorist operation there.
