The United Kingdom Maritime Merchant Operations Coordination Center (UKMTO) reported a new attack by unknown persons on a ship in the Red Sea. According to the center's statement, the ship sustained minor damage as a result of two hits.
„The captain reported two attacks. The first was carried out using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that exploded in close proximity to the ship, causing minor damage. The second attack used an unmanned boat that blew up next to the ship. The captain subsequently reported other cases of drone sightings. Both crew and ship are safe. The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident”, the report says.
The attack took place on the night of July 20, when the ship was off the coast of Eritrea, 64 nautical miles from the Yemeni port of Moha.
