The Ukrainian armed forces are under strong pressure in the eastern part of the country, he said last night President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening video address to the nation, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
The situation around Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region in particular has been carefully analyzed by the military leadership, Zelensky said.
"This area was and continues to be the center of Russian attacks," Zelensky pointed out. Everything possible should be done to strengthen Ukrainian defense positions in the region, he added.
The Ukrainian leader expressed "special gratitude" of all units that attacked Russian bases and logistics in the occupied territories, without naming specific units.
"The occupier must feel that this is Ukrainian land," Zelensky said.
Ukrainian media earlier reported a missile attack on a military airport in Crimea, which has been annexed by Russia since 2014, citing military sources in Kiev.
So far, the Ukrainian side has not provided details about the attack, DPA points out. There are no comments from the Russian side.
