US President Joe Biden and Jordan's King Abdullah discussed efforts to achieve truce and a deal to release the hostages in Gaza during a phone call last night, Reuters reported, citing BTA, citing statements from both sides.
A White House statement said Biden briefed Abdullah on "preparations for a sharp increase in humanitarian aid during the ceasefire period." The two also discussed possible reforms of the Palestinian Authority in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, as well as ensuring its access to revenues, the White House said.
The Jordanian royal court said the two men discussed the "dangerous development of the situation in Gaza". Abdullah affirmed "the important role of the United States in creating a political horizon to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution," the statement added.
