Employees of the Federal Security Service /FSB/, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation , have prevented a series of terrorist attacks in Dagestan planned by three residents of Kaspiysk, the Intelligence Public Relations Center reported.
„As a result of the actions carried out in the city of Kaspiysk, three local residents were identified and detained, supporters of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia, citizens of the Russian Federation, who had intentions to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts contrary to the republic legislation. They planned attacks on law enforcement agencies, as well as an Orthodox church, the message says.
The homes of the detainees were searched, where improvised explosive devices, weapons, instructions for conducting combat operations in urban and forest conditions were found.
The defendants confessed. One of them said that they planned to blow up a church on "Lenin" street, opposite the "Molot" sports hall. At this place in Kaspiysk there is a temple of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.
A criminal case has been opened against them for “Preparation of a terrorist act”, “Organization of a terrorist community and participation in it” and “Illegal production of explosives“.
