The conflict in Ukraine must end as soon as possible -soon, a repeat summit on the issue can be held before November, Volodymyr Zelensky's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, said in an interview with Bloomberg on August 1, as quoted by Focus.
"The most important expectation from the second summit is that it will form the basic preconditions for the cessation of hostilities. We need to end this conflict," emphasized Ermak.
In his words, the second congress could be held in "one of the countries of the Global South" in the Middle East. The Ukrainian authorities expect representatives of the Russian Federation to attend the congress.
On August 1, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Moscow has no confidence in the Ukrainian government. He also stated that the Russian Federation was and remains open to negotiations with Ukraine to resolve the conflict.
