A female attacker wounded five people with a cold weapon on a bus in the western German city of Siegen, reported DPA, quoted by BTA, referring to a German police statement from yesterday evening.
Three of the injured are in critical condition. The thirty-two-year-old suspect of the attack was arrested.
At least 40 people were on the bus carrying people to a city festival in Siegen, which is about 75 km east of Cologne.
The attack in Siegen came exactly a week after an attack in the western German city of Solingen, in which a knife-wielding attacker killed three people and wounded eight. The suspect, a 26-year-old Syrian, was detained. The terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack in Solingen, but German authorities are still investigating whether IS was indeed behind the attack.
Police in Siegen urged citizens "not to spread false information on social networks and through other channels and, in particular, not to talk about a terrorist attack".
There is currently no information about the attacker's motives.
