At least five people were killed and another 46 injured in last night's Ukrainian strikes on the southwestern Russian city of Belgorod, the governor of the district of the same name Vyacheslav Gladkov, quoted by Reuters.
The governor added that 37 people, including seven children, were taken to the hospital, Darik radio reports.
A video posted on social media taken by a car during the attack shows another car blowing up while driving on a road. Seconds later, a second explosion is seen on the other side of the road.
In recent months, Ukraine has frequently struck Belgorod and other Russian border regions.
Russia and Ukraine say they are not deliberately targeting civilians in the war, which began after Russia sent thousands of troops to the neighboring country in February 2022. Moscow calls the invasion a “special military operation”.
