LONDON, Aug 31. /TASS/. The start of ticket sales for the first concerts of the rock band Oasis in 15 years caused a crash on specialist sites in the UK. The See Tickets and GigsandTours portals remain unavailable for several hours.

At the moment, the only platform from which you can buy tickets is the Ticketmaster website, but the queue in the virtual waiting room there is hundreds of thousands of people and, according to preliminary estimates, it takes about four hours to buy a ticket. Tickets for the Oasis concerts went on sale on Saturday morning. They range in price from £75 to £500 ($100 to $650). Around 1.4 million tickets are expected to be sold.

On Friday evening, a limited number of tickets went on pre-sale. They were available to those fans whose entries were selected during the lottery. Immediately after, the tickets began to be released for resale on the Internet at a price of more than 6,000 pounds (7,800 USD). In turn, group founders Liam and Noel Gallagher warned that tickets bought from third-party sites may not be valid. They reminded that the official resale of tickets will only take place on the Ticketmaster and Twickets platforms at a nominal price.

The Oasis reunion 15 years after the split was announced on August 27. The Gallagher brothers originally announced that they would play just 14 concerts between 4 July and 17 August 2025 in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin. Due to increased interest, they later announced three additional shows in Manchester, London and Edinburgh.

The group Oasis was founded in 1991. Since the mid-1990s, it has become one of the cult and most commercially successful music groups in the world. Oasis is considered one of the main popularizers of the Britpop genre, along with the bands Blur, Suede and Pulp. In the 1990s, British journalists described the creative rivalry between Oasis and Blur as the “Battle of Britpop”. Music critics noted that the Manchester group clearly showed the influence of groups such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Kinks.

Oasis unexpectedly broke up in 2009 as a result of an argument between the brothers just before their concert in Paris. A few minutes before the performance, the assembled audience was informed that the concert had been cancelled, and two hours later, Noel announced his departure from the band on the grounds that he could no longer be on the same stage with Liam. After that, the musicians began to develop their solo projects, which failed to repeat the group's success.

According to The Daily Mail, the Gallagher brothers have agreed to a reconciliation mainly for financial reasons. According to her, the post-reunion tour could bring them 50 million pounds ($65 million). The publication suggests that Noel Gallagher may agree to perform joint concerts amid his divorce from ex-wife Sarah McDonald, which has cost him around 20 million pounds ($25 million).
