Russian troops have taken control of the city of Novogrodovka in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said, as cited by Reuters and BTA.
"As a result of the active actions of units from the central troop group of the Russian army, the settlement of Novogrodovka was liberated, TASS reported, citing a statement from the department.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia adds that eight counterattacks by Ukrainian assault groups were repelled during the operation.
