The presidents of China and Russia Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin sent congratulations to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the occasion of the anniversary of the country's founding, the North Korean news agency KCTA reported today, as quoted by Reuters and BTA.
„I am sure that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and the DPRK will strengthen as planned thanks to our joint efforts,” Putin said, according to KCTA.
In his message, Xi Jinping called for deepening strategic communication and cooperation with North Korea.
Last year, Kim celebrated North Korea's founding day – September 9 – with a parade featuring paramilitary groups and promised to deepen ties with China and Russia.
