Eleven women have been included in the draft structure of the new European Commission, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a few minutes ago in Strasbourg. She is currently presenting the structure of the future EC and the distribution of responsibilities of the new European Commissioners, after a meeting with the Council of Presidents of the European Parliament, including the President of the EP Roberta Mezzola and the leaders of the political groups, quoted by BTA.
"The draft structure of the new EC is based on our political priorities," said Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference before journalists in Strasbourg. The priorities include competitiveness, security and digitalization, added the President of the EC.
Until the last moment, it was not certain that the announcement would take place due to delays in the nomination procedure for the European Commissioner candidate from Slovenia.
