An-3 aircraft AK Borus made an emergency landing 1.5 km from the Yakut city of Olekminsk. One of the passengers died, reports the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Yakutia, TASS reported.

"The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) received a message that an An-3 AK Borus plane made an emergency landing 1.5 km from the city of Olekminsk. There were five people on board the plane, including three crew members and two passengers. As a result of the incident, unfortunately, one passenger died”, the message says.

The loss of engine thrust and its subsequent shutdown caused the emergency landing of the plane, the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office reports on its Telegram channel.

„The Yakut Transport Prosecutor's Office organized an investigation into the rough landing of the An-3 plane. On October 13, 2024, around 08:29 (02:29 Moscow time), information was received about a rough landing of An-3 flying on the Olekminsk - Zheleznogorsk route. According to preliminary data, the cause of the plane's rough landing was a loss of engine thrust and its subsequent stop”, the report says.

The Yakut Transport Prosecutor's Office organizes a flight safety check.
