Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel, which attacked Iran on the night of October 26, of wanting to start a regional conflict scale. He said this in Hatay province in the south-east of the country. The broadcast was carried out by the TV channel TRT Haber.
„The Zionist government of Israel, flattered by the Western powers, is trying to light the fuse of the regional conflict. I hope this match will not be played,”, he said.
Earlier, Israel's strikes against Iran were condemned by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, stressing that with this attack, Tel Aviv put the region on the brink of a bigger war. “Ending Israeli terror in the region has become a historic challenge to ensure international security and peace. We call on the international community to take immediate measures to ensure compliance with the law and stop the government of Binyamin Netanyahu”, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
