The Turkish army liquidated 15 fighters from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK, banned and recognized as terrorist by Ankara) in northern Syria. This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.

„In Northern Syria, in the areas of operations “Euphrates Shield“ and "Fountain of the World" 15 terrorists were killed”, the ministry said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of 17 Kurdish fighters in the same region. In total, after the terrorist attack in Ankara on October 23, more than 140 PKK fighters were killed in northern Syria and Iraq as a result of airstrikes by the Turkish army, TV channel TRT Haber noted.

On Wednesday, terrorists attacked the Tusa Aerospace Corporation in Istanbul. As a result, 5 people died and 22 were injured. Two attackers were killed. As the intelligence services have established, the attackers are PKK fighters and entered Turkey from Syria.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has been ongoing since 1984. Turkish authorities consider the PKK a threat to national security and regularly conduct actions against its supporters in the country and cross-border operations in northern Iraq and Syria.
