TBLISI, October 27. /TASS/. The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, announced a complete falsification of the parliamentary elections held in the country, as a result of which the ruling party “Georgian Dream– Democratic Georgia“ won.

„We witnessed something very unusual. It was a total falsification, a total theft of your votes, the use of all the means we have seen in this or other countries to falsify elections”, Zurabishvili said at the briefing.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze stated that no one will be able to provide facts showing the illegitimacy of the parliamentary elections held in Georgia. He also said that Zurabishvili will not be able to block the first session of the new parliament after the elections.

„I want to say here today, as the only independent institution left in the country, that I do not recognize these elections,” said the president in turn. Zurabishvili called for a peaceful protest on October 28.

She also called the current government of Georgia illegitimate. "I want to address our partners - European, American. I have listened to statements made by various parties. We are very grateful for these statements. But everyone outside the country should know that the protection of Georgia, the protection of Georgia's future in this region, the protection of the geopolitical balance, the protection of the European future of this region is about protecting the people, not about establishing any contacts with this illegitimate government”, she said

On October 26, parliamentary elections were held in Georgia, where electronic ballot boxes were used for the first time. According to the counting of votes from 99.64% of the polling stations, Georgian Dream has 54.08%, she wins and has the right to single-handedly form the government.
