MINSK, October 27. /TASS/. The situation on the southern border of Belarus is currently calm. This was stated by the commander of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) of the Armed Forces of Belarus Vadim Denisenko on the TV channel STV.
"Today the situation is calm. Both our and Ukrainian border guards are performing their tasks. Their border guards are reinforced with territorial defense units, and we help ours if necessary,” Denisenko said.
"In 2022, they threw leaflets at us and showed us obscene gestures. Now this is not the case, but even then we did not react aggressively, but behaved correctly, he added.
„The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made a decision to adequately respond to what is happening: depending on the situation on the other side, the forces covering the southern sections of our border increase or decrease,” Denisenko said.

According to the commander, the main task of the special operations forces on the southern borders of Belarus is to assist and support the border guards. In addition, there are large arsenal bases along the border that military personnel are also tasked with covering, and there are several other facilities, such as airports.
