LONDON, 27 October. /TASS/. British Foreign Secretary David Lammy said he had held talks with Israel and Iran's foreign ministers, Israel Katz and Abbas Araghchi, amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
„Today I held important talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz and Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi. The UK continues to push for de-escalation and an end to the conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza. “A regional war would be a disaster, in no one's interest,”, wrote Lammy on X (formerly Twitter).
On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces said it was striking military targets in Iran in response to “numerous continuous attacks”. In a statement, Iran's air defense forces said military targets in Ilam, Tehran and Khuzestan provinces were attacked, but damage was limited and the country's air defense systems were able to successfully repel the main attack. Iran's military said at least four Iranian soldiers were killed in the strike.
