The senior aide of President Volodymyr Zelensky Andriy Yermak discussed support for Ukraine and reports of North Korea's involvement in the war started by Russia with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

"We discussed the Ukrainian Victory Plan, the implementation of the Peace Formula, the front lines, the weapons and the North Korean soldiers that Russia is preparing for war," Andriy Yermak, Zelensky's chief of staff, said in Ex. The statement was made after his meeting with Sullivan.

"Military aid to Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and increased pressure on Moscow's allies are essential," he stressed.

The two-and-a-half-year-old war in Ukraine appears to have taken a dangerous new turn after NATO and South Korea expressed concern that North Korean soldiers may soon join Moscow's forces, Reuters notes.

During his visit to Washington just a week before the US presidential election, Ermak also spoke with Blinken about US military and economic aid, according to a statement on the State Department website.

"The Secretary reaffirmed continued US support for Ukraine's sovereignty in its struggle against Russia's brutal war of aggression and support for a just and lasting peace based on the UN Charter,'' the statement said.

The US has been a staunch ally of Ukraine under Joe Biden's presidency, with Washington providing more than $50 billion in military aid since 2022, when Russia began its invasion.

At the same time, a Russian drone attack in Kiev injured at least nine people, including an 11-year-old girl. Several apartments have been set on fire by falling debris from a destroyed drone, which caused a fire in a multi-storey residential building in the Solomyansky district, in the western part of Kyiv, Reuters noted, citing a statement by Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko on Telegram.
