Israel has notified the International Criminal Court that it will appeal the arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former minister of defense Yoav Gallant because of their behavior in the war in Gaza, reports "Reuters".
Netanyahu also said that U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican, had informed him "of a series of measures he is promoting in the U.S. Congress against the ICC and against countries that would cooperate with it," Netanyahu said.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last Thursday for Netanyahu, his former defense minister and the military leader of "Hamas" Ibrahim Al-Masri, known as Mohammed Deif, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza conflict.
"Israel today sent notice to the International Criminal Court of its intention to appeal to the court, along with a request to delay the execution of the arrest warrants," Netanyahu said.
Israel does not recognize the jurisdiction of the Hague-based court and denies having committed war crimes in Gaza.
