Germany will provide another 8 million euros in humanitarian aid to Syria and increase its presence in the country, announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs Analena Berbok, BTA reports.
In addition, Germany will appoint State Minister Tobias Lindner as its special representative in Syria. This was announced during the presentation of an eight-point action plan, quoted by "Reuters".
„We have a moment of hope”, Berbok said during the press conference, but emphasized that the situation in Syria remains extremely unstable. "She is anything but stable," added the minister.
During the presentation of the new measures, Berbok emphasized the importance of coordinating the return of Syrian refugees with partners in Europe and the United Nations. This includes efforts to ensure security and adequate conditions for those who decide to return to their homeland. “We must ensure the safety of these people while working with international organizations to support this process,”, she emphasized.
