Lee Jae-myun, the leader of the majority-controlling Democratic Party in South Korea's parliament, said that they will not seek impeachment of interim President Han Deok-soo for now, Yonhap reported.

“Too many impeachments could cause confusion in government affairs, so it was decided to abandon the impeachment procedure for now“, Lee Jae-myung said.

“Yesterday I spoke on the phone with the incumbent president. I asked him to govern the country from a neutral position, to stand above party differences, not to distinguish between ruling and opposition camps, not to be appointed prime minister by the ruling party,” the politician said.

“The acting president agreed completely and voluntarily“, added Lee Jae-myung.
