Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will make personnel changes to his cabinet, the CTV television channel reported.
Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Minister Sean Fraser will leave the government for personal reasons, media sources say. It is noted that Fraser's departure could seriously hit Trudeau, as he is considered a "rising star" in Canadian politics and also heads the important housing department.
At the same time, former Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney, with whom active negotiations are currently underway, may join Trudeau's cabinet. The prime minister is expected to announce his cabinet changes on December 18.
Trudeau and the ruling Liberal Party of Canada have been losing support among their compatriots since 2023 amid continued price increases and rising living standards.
