Several people were injured in an alleged knife attack in the western part of the German capital Berlin, DPA reported, referring to a statement from the German police today, BTA reports.
The version is that a man attacked several people on a street in the western district of "Charlottenburg", a police spokeswoman said. Two of the injured have been hospitalized.
A signal about the attack was received by emergency services at around 12:00 local time (13:00 Bulgarian time) today. The suspect has been detained and taken into custody, DPA specifies.
The German newspaper "Be Zet" reported that several passers-by tried to stop the attacker. The publication, quoted by DPA, notes that so far there are no indications that the motive for the attack is related to terrorism.
The police have not released any further details about the attack, the attacker, or the victims.
