From January 1, public transport in Belgrade has become free. This was announced by the mayor of the Serbian capital, Aleksandar Šapić, at a press conference, quoted by PTC and FOCUS.
Šapić said that a complete renovation of transport is coming in the next three years, and according to him, Belgrade will be the only city in Europe that will have free public transport for 2 million people.
"By the end of 2025, there will be no vehicles that are older than two years, except for those we bought in 2022“, Šapić also commented at the press conference.
