"Hamas" is preparing for a possible release of Palestinian prisoners as ceasefire talks in Gaza make significant progress, DPA reported, BTA reports.
"We renew our promise to our determined and patient people, as well as to our heroic prisoners, and confirm that they will soon be released," the group's representatives said.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, after meeting with his Danish counterpart Lars Løkke Rasmussen in Jerusalem, announced progress in indirect talks between Israel and "Hamas" held in Qatar.
"Israel expresses a strong desire for the release of the hostages and is working intensively to reach an agreement. It will soon be clear whether the other side also wants a deal. We hope that progress will be made in the near future," Saar said.
The main focus of the talks in Doha is the exchange of Palestinian prisoners for hostages held by "Hamas", as well as the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
In November 2023, under a temporary ceasefire, "Hamas" released 105 hostages, while Israel, in turn, released 240 Palestinian prisoners. New agreements are expected to further develop this process.
